How I Keep Moving Forward: 14 Years of Vision and Focus

It’s been 14 years since I decided to take my vision seriously as a polymath. A lot has changed along the way, but the end goal? That’s never shifted. From day one, I knew what I wanted. When I hit 19, I took that first step toward it, and I’ve been moving ever since. It hasn’t been easy—nothing worth having ever is. But today, I want to share what’s kept me laser-focused on this journey.

Knowing Yourself is the First Step

In one of my recent interviews, I talked about the importance of self-knowledge. If you don’t know who you are, how can you chart the course to where you want to be? You have to get deep with yourself, real deep.

Here’s how I do it:

  • Talk to yourself. Don’t be afraid of the silence. When you’re alone, start asking yourself those deep questions. Let yourself flow with the answers. There’s no rush—let it come naturally.
  • Practice mindfulness. For me, that means meditation, breathing exercises, and 10 minutes of mindfulness every day. It’s simple, but it helps me sort through the noise and stay grounded.
  • Learn about your family. You are the latest version of your ancestors. If you don’t know their stories, you’re missing out on a part of yourself. Get with the elders in your family and learn your roots.
  • Master your fears. Don’t let them run you—conquer them.

Diet and Exercise: The Foundation of Focus

Let’s get practical for a second. If your body isn’t in check, your mind won’t be either. Exercise and a clean diet have made everything I do easier. The simpler my approach, the more powerful I felt.

  • Movement matters. I’m not saying you need to be a gym rat, but a simple walk every day? That’ll do wonders. It keeps me active, sharp, and gives me the discipline to tackle anything.
  • Keep it simple with food. Focus on whole foods—single-ingredient, natural, clean. If you can’t pronounce the ingredients, it probably shouldn’t be on your plate. Keep it clean, and watch your energy and focus level up.

When your physical is aligned, your mental follows, and that leads to a chain reaction of good habits.

Spirituality and Philosophy: The Fuel for Growth

I’m constantly growing. Spirituality and philosophy keep me learning, keep me evolving. Every day, I absorb new knowledge, and that’s what helps me grow as a person and stay connected to my purpose.

  • Stay connected to God. When you build that relationship with the divine, you start to ease into life. The stresses, the things you can’t control? You give those to spirit. Focus on what’s within your power, and let the rest go.
  • Enter the flow state. Once you hand over what you can’t control, you start to flow. And in that flow state, you use less effort to make things happen. It’s like being in tune with the universe—things start to align with your vision.
  • Create your moral code. Develop your own set of principles and live by them every day. Consistency is everything when it comes to becoming your best self.

What Keeps Me Focused

This journey I’m on isn’t just about achieving a goal. It’s about becoming the best version of myself, every day. That means staying committed to the disciplines, practices, and beliefs that fuel me—physically, mentally, and spiritually.

So, wherever you are on your journey, keep these tools close. Get to know yourself. Take care of your body. Expand your mind. And above all, stay connected to your purpose. It’s the only way to keep moving forward—no matter how many years pass.

Stay focused. Stay true.
